Ø Reporting
:
Please report
for the convocation by 9:00 am if you are in the morning session. or
at 1:30 pm if you are in the afternoon session. LATE COMERS WILL
HAVE TO MISS THE CEREMONY.
Ø Robing
:
Please proceed to the robing area as shown in the map. Vacate the
robing area as soon as you are robed to make room for others.
Ø Assembly
:
Please assemble at the Nanyang Auditorium Foyer, after properly
robed, NOT LATER THAN 9:10am/ 1:40pm.
Ø Seating
Block :
Please check
your seating block here. Assemble
in
front of the signboard indicating that Block. The University
marshal will call you into line according to the order listed in the
Convocation programme. Copies of this programme are available in the
robing area. Please take a copy. Once in line, you must remain in
place so as not to upset your seating position in the auditorium.
Ø Procession:
At
10.00 a.m./2.30 p.m., the University marshals will lead the
procession to the auditorium on Basement 1 of the Nanyang
Auditorium.
The procession should move in a solemn order.
At 10.10 a.m./2.40 p.m., a fanfare will sound and, led
by the marshals, the graduate procession will enter the auditorium
through Door 1 and Door 2 using the route indicated for each block
(see Annex 3). Please sit down when you have reached your seat in
the auditorium. At 10.30 a.m./3.00 p.m., a
second fanfare will sound.
Graduates and members of the public will stand for the
official procession to enter the auditorium.
Ø Order
of Proceedings
:
(a) The
presentation of graduates will take place immediately after the
words: 'Mr Chancellor/Pro-Chancellor, may I present the following
graduates on whom the degree of ........... has earlier been
conferred.'
(b) At the appropriate
time, the University marshal
will indicate to
you when
and where
you should stand while waiting to be presented.
(c) PROCEED
TO THE SPOT MARKED X AS
SOON AS IT
IS VACATED BY THE PERSON IN FRONT OF YOU.
(d) When
your name is called, go forward and shake hands with the Chancellor
/ ProChancellor.
(e) Receive
your folder.
(f)
Walk across the stage to descend by the steps at the opposite
end. Return to your seat following the directions of the marshals.
Ø End of
Proceedings :
(a)
After the Chancellor/Pro-Chancellor has closed the
Convocation, the National Anthem will be played.
Remain standing as the official procession, led by the
Chancellor/ Pro-Chancellor, leaves the auditorium. The marshals
will let you know when to leave the suditorium in procession,
exiting by Door 1 and Door 2.
(b)
Graduates and their guests are invited to refreshments after
the ceremony.
